There is no legal obligation for your group to adopt a structure however, by having a structure your group can have credibility, a governing document (such as a constitution) and you will be more attractive to potential funders.
There are various community group structures, which include:
- Unincorporated Association
- Charitable Trust
- Company Ltd by Guarantee
- Scottish Unincorporated Charitable Organisation (SCIO)
- Community Interest Company (CIC)
- Industrial and Provident Societies
- Development Trust
